BRANDIN TUMEINSKI

Westborough, MASSACHUSETTS, USA

I have been a film photographer in New England since 2012, shooting medium format images on my trusty Pentax67 and Rolleiflex 6001. I have a strong love for Kodak and Ilford film stocks. In 2019, after attending a film photography workshop, Jonathan Canlas told me: “you have a clear vision, understand composition, and, most importantly, your images say something, and cohesively say [it].” Inspired by these words from one of the most talented people I have ever worked with:  I am available for portrait work.

I love photographing people.

I believe that photography is more than just capturing a moment; photography is about communicating a feeling.

I shoot film because it slows me down. It is not as expendable as digital, so each frame is important. Each shot has to have purpose.

(Plus, digital cannot match the colors and skin tones of Kodak.)

In addition to the portrait work I do, I was selected by the town of Westborough, MA to be their first Photographer in Residence (07/2018-06/2019). In this position I captured images of its residents for the town’s historical archives.
