NIGHT

—a challenge to reimagine the dynamic relationship between darkness and light.

Darkness is the canvas of the unknown, where shadows weave intricate tales. In the deep hours of night, mystery and danger may lurk. Light, in contrast, is the gifted artist’s stroke, illuminating our world with vibrant hues and casting away the specters of fear. Together, darkness and light create a symphony of contrasts. It is the autumnal equinox, when the veil thins…and the spirts come out and dance—one of our favorite times of year.

This exhibition will also touch upon the tug of war between darkness and light in the human psyche. Repelling darkness and depression is such a fundamental human need and perhaps one of the first cultural adaptations of our early ancestors. Dispelling the effects of darkness is necessary for balance. Artists have the gift of imagination and expression, and the ability to represent their message visually. Good versus evil, darkness versus light, the subtly between, we give you Night.
