Juniper Rag, On Fire In 2022
We had a very busy year indeed.
At Origin in February held at JMAC Worcester, we welcomed 50 artists from all over the US to exhibit work in-person, for our 1st live show after the pandemic. We packed the house with immunized and masked attendees and sold 17 pieces of art. Michael Bobbitt, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Cultural Council had just been interviewed for Juniper Rag. It was so fortuitous that he spoke in our gallery to the most important people in the arts community who attended the event and saw our show.
Lucious Punch in May with Robin Reynolds and Julia C. R. Gray at CUSP Gallery in Provincetown, MA . Juniper Rag collaborated with Curtis Speer to showcase one artist, Robin Reynolds earned that spot and was kind enough to bring in Julia’s work as well. The show was well attended and about 13 pieces were sold.
Artists on Fire, a collaboration with The Worcester Center for Crafts took place in July. This was a live show featuring three 16 x 16 inch works each artist and a solo show by John Pagano to compliment.
The NewtonNOW Exhibition for Newton Art Association members show at Nearby Gallery in Newton, MA took place in July.
Juniper Rag helped select a curator for The Hopkinton Arts Association Curator in Residence program in July.
With this, we also put out a special call for art for a print issue, Outrage, in response to the Roe v. Wade decision. Artist submission fees donated $840, to Planned Parenthood. We were so happy to submit that donation (the 1st of 2) to an organization that supports the right to choose and offers healthcare. 50% of sales will also go to Planned Parenthood.
Our Elevation Exhibition took place this August, virtually and featured 15 esteemed artists rom around the world.
The Darkness Exhibition, also virtual…dropping soon for October - November viewing.
The ARCKBoston gala, Igniting Imaginations will take place October 20th. We are on the Board of Advisors and part of the Gala Host Committee.
AND…We published three print magazines, wrote many blog posts and featured all of our artists a multitude of times on social.
We also conducted countless interviews, hired two new writers, a another proofer and we are hiring designers. This year was full of collaborations with arts organizations and worked with curators, including our anonymous #1 choice, Marjorie Rawle of Fitchburg Art Museum, Luis Antonio Fraire of Sprinkler Factory, The Park view Room and now, The White Room and on our issue in the works, Curtis Speer, fine art photographer and gallery owner at CUSP Gallery.
