ARTIST DON HARTMANN IN HIS SPRINKLER FACTORY STUDIO

Art Vérité

Art Vérite is the blog of Juniper Rag co-founded in 2020 by Payal Thiffault and Michelle May. We began as a magazine and shifted gears as our artists asked for more exhibitions, virtual and in-person. The blog is a digital outlet to satiate the initial intent of bringing really cool creative inspiration, technology and insight we find to readers that want to dig deeper.

We come from the paper and print world with deep roots in the wedding industry and we have worked with some big companies like BRIDES | Condé Naste, Wynn, Gilt, Joss & Main, among others. Award-winning designers, who previously worked for one of the most competitive invitation companies in the US, we focus now on marketing and design to elevate significant emerging and mid-career artists. With expertise in design, content creation, copywriting, marketing and social media for two decades, we now own a boutique marketing firm and promote artists with Juniper Rag, exhibitions and collaborators with crafted stories and informative articles. Topics include studio visits, items related to the future of art, inspiration for creativity and the art market in general. Part of our success stems from having a background in highly successful trend forecasting and art buying for one of the biggest online retailers of wedding and social stationery. Wielding a combination of experience and a deep commitment to the advocacy of the arts, Payal and Michelle have been promoting visual artists since 2008.

We also feature artist profiles, art experiences and insights that we share. If you would like to be featured or learn about our services, we would be happy to help.

If you have an idea and would like to jury, collaborate or if you’d like to inquire about sponsoring content, exhibitions or prizes feel free to reach out to Michelle.

We’re Getting to the Good Part with Ingrid V. Wells

Artists like Ingrid V. Wells increasingly use their platforms to challenge societal norms and advocate for mental and physical well-being through their work. With this collection of oil on linen, Ingrid V. Wells paints about the journey of radical self-compassion. It is a fierce rebellion, she considers “pretty punk rock”, to stay in your joy when blanketed in seemingly depressing circumstances. With this body of work she responds to her personal puzzles with the aim of inspiring the viewer to greet challenges with curiosity. Ingrid’s paintings serve as a visual respite for joyful rebellion in the face of obstacles.
